Nicholas II and his family were finally canonized by the Russian Orthodox Church on August 14th, 2000, by the Counsel of Bishops led by Patriarch Alexei II. They were granted the status of Passionbearers for the humble and Christian way that they met their fate.  While not martyrs according to the church, they are to millions of Orthodox around the world.  My God bless the Imperial Martyrs and those canonized with them, and may God bless those who unanimously voted for their Holy Sainthood.
